Forest remnant

Aspen and birch amongst Scots pines at the east end of Glen Affric; our vision is to restore a mixed forest like this, with a mix of habitats and missing species returned.

20th Anniversary Grove

And still growing strong!

Volunteers putting up tree tubes

To commemorate 20 years of hard work restoring the Caledonian Forest, Trees for Life is inviting you to add a tree to our 20th Anniversary Grove.

In June 1989 the first practical work on our project was carried out by volunteers who protected Scots pine seedlings in Glen Cannich with tree tubes. 20 years and 800,000 trees later, the Trees for Life team has grown to 16 employees. Thousands of volunteers have participated in our Conservation Conservation Holidays, helping to restore over 1,125 acres of degraded land to native forest, and thousands of individuals, Trusts and Companies support us the world over.

In 2008 we purchased the 10,000 acre Dundreggan Estate, which provides an opportunity to significantly expand our forest restoration work, and the 20th Anniversary Grove of trees will be planted there.

The vision for our work extends for at least another 230 years, to ensure the continuation and viability of the Caledonian Forest for generations to come.

So please add your commitment to ours and sponsor a tree in our 20th Anniversary Grove today!
