Wildshots
Wildshots is based in the Cairngorms area, and offers photo-tours and holidays in the Scottish highlands and overseas. Wildshots has a policy of providing welcoming holidays, hands-on learning and a real sense of fun, coupled with a strong sense of responsibility towards the local environment. It strives to minimise its physical impact on the places it visits, as well as nurturing engagement with local cultures and providing economic benefit to rural communities through our presence.
Wildshots is a long-standing supporter of Trees for Life, having responded to various requests by the charity for equipment, and by donating photographs for marketing purposes. What's more, Wildshots has pledged to fund the planting of at least 3,000 native trees over the next three years. To do this, it has teamed up with Trees for Life. Wildshots hopes to create a “Wildshots Forest” in Dundreggan, a wild remnant of the once vast Caledonian Forest.
Wildshots is purchasing trees on behalf of every guest signing up for its trips during 2007-2009. Furthermore, it will be offering all guests the opportunity to voluntarily match fund its contribution, to help lower their impact on the environment as a result of their carbon emissions.
How does it work?
For every guest, it will donate the following:
- Scottish based tours: 3 trees (£15)
- European tours: 5 trees (£25)
- Inter-continental tours: 10 trees (£50)
Wildshots Club members will have 50 trees donated on their behalf for every 5 trips taken with.
Guests can “match fund” Wildshot’s contribution by including a cheque made payable to “Trees for Life” for the appropriate number of trees when making a holiday booking.
