Scottish Exhibition & Conference Centre

Scottish Exhibition & Conference Centre (SECC) is Scotland's premier venue for exhibitions, conferences, concerts and spectator events and also the largest integrated conference and exhibition centre in the UK. SECC has been successful in attracting some of the world's largest events as well as the biggest names in music. During the last year, SECC staged 235 different events and attracted over 1.5 million people to the Centre.

SEC Ltd (SEC) is aware of the potential impact that the events staged at the Scottish Exhibition & Conference Centre can have on the environment. It is committed to further growth and development of its exhibition, conference and events business and intends to pursue this objective whilst operating the venue in an environmentally sustainable way wherever possible. In addition to supporting Trees for Life, a number of environmental policies have been introduced, including:-

  • minimising energy wastage and by becoming more energy efficient.
  • using electricity generated only by renewable sources.
  • reducing the amount of waste sent to landfill.
  • introducing recycling wherever possible.
  • using environmentally friendly or fully biodegradable materials for cleaning.
  • reducing the use of paper and using recycled paper for all office requirements and promotional materials.
  • work with the Carbon Trust to assess and reduce SECC's carbon footprint.
