Montane Scrub Project: 3 month post

Help with the restoration of the montane woodland zone this summer!

We are looking for a resourceful person to work on the montane scrub project for 3 months, probably mid June-mid September 2008. The post will mainly be field based but on occasions require visits to our office at Findhorn. The work will focus on further surveys for montane species plus some monitoring of established regeneration areas in the Glen Affric/Glen Moriston areas of the Highlands. You will need to have experience of work in the uplands, preferably including botanical surveys. An ability to work alone in remote conditions is essential. A report with mapped locations will be required at the end of the project. You will need to plan your work, be diplomatic with land managers, have some admin/IT skills and your own vehicle.

A passion for nature conservation and a willingness to work with the spiritual values on which Trees for Life is based are vital.
